To celebrate the 2022 UCI Road World Championships – the biggest event held in Wollongong – each day photographers from Thirroul's Silly Studio will capture the crowds, the fun and the racing action for the Illawarra Flame.
Our Wollongong 2022 photography series started today, 17 September, with pictures taken around Flagstaff Hill as the city marked the start of the championships with a Community Ride.
Ahead of the pros, local riders of all ages and abilities seized the chance to ride a section of the World Championship course, enjoying the city's famous views of ocean and escarpment.
The Foreshore Circuit Community Ride was followed by a Spin Fest Beach Party at North Wollongong, hosted by Council.
