There’s only one thing that Illawarra folks love more than the Illawarra, and that’s a road trip down the coast. Now that the weather is warming up, the temptation to book that next holiday is growing and this summer how about trying something a little different on your trip down South to the Eurobodalla and hit the water for an hour or two in a kayak? Look, if I can do it, anyone can!
I asked Josh and Kate from Region X for their 3 top kayak spots and this is what they came up with:
- 1. Clyde river – Surrounded by National Park, many personalities, various sections to choose on its 33km journey from its last rapid to where it enters the sea in Batemans bay.
- 2. Tomaga River, Mossy Point – A crystal clear tidal estuary (and the home of Region X) with incredibly large stingrays and coffee and cake at the end!
- 3. Wagonga inlet, Narooma – Posidonia sea grass beds and oyster reef allow all sorts of sea life to flourish, you may even see seals in the inlet!
You can follow Region X on Facebook and Instagram for details on kayak hire and their famous guided tours.
