The Imperial Hotel in Clifton reopened in 2021 after closing its doors 20 years earlier. The building dates back to the late 1800s, established in 1884 as a watering hole for the local miners. The building has been lovingly restored as a hospitality venue, including a restaurant, cafe and events space. Much of the history has been retained including heritage features such as the original timber staircase and five original fireplaces.
You can arrive on the Imperial Express bus which runs from Helensburgh to Thirroul and back. Check out their website for designated stops and times.
Spend time getting familiar with the hotel's history through the interpretive signs around the venue. Take a drink downstairs onto the lawn and soak in the expansive views. Share some of the delicious meals with friends. The menu includes products and produce sourced from our local area.
The Imperial at Clifton is open for breakfast and lunch daily and dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.
