By Lauren Mitsak of Stanwell Park Arts Theatre (SPAT)
SPAT's groundbreaking production of Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf is now in production. The orchestra, shadow puppets, actors and narrator are wowing young and old alike. The 1944 Sherlock Holmes radio play, entitled The Case of the Haunted Chateaux (evening performances only), is also proving to be a crowd pleaser. It’s been a sell-out show, but there may be cancellations, so email us at sparstheatre@gmail.com and let us know when you want to go and we will get back to you if tickets become available.
Audition for Christmas Panto
This year’s Christmas panto, entitled Twelve Hours to Christmas, co-written by Christine Higgins and Rachael Kiddier, is being directed by father/daughter duo Tom and Katie Peach. They are super excited to be involved and have declared the script a winner and envision a fantastic production. Audition dates are Sunday, September 7 at 2pm and Tuesday evening September 9 at 7pm at the Stanwell Park CWA hall. Rehearsal dates will be Sunday afternoons at 2pm and Thursday evenings (adults only). We are also looking for a producer and stage manager. Experience is not required as Sian Morgan has created a templet of what’s required. You will also receive support from the directors, writers and cast. It’s a great way to become involved and we guarantee that you’ll have loads of fun.
