Alliance launches crowd-funding campaign to publish 'Eating Democracy' book

Eating Democracy: The True Cost of the Food We Eat is the second book from the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance (AFSA), a farmer-led non-profit association that works towards a socially just and ecologically sound food systems.

AFSA have launched a campaign to raise $30,000 to publish the book. Their first book, Farming Democracy, was published four years ago and tells the story of family farms doing things differently.

Eating Democracy features the inspirational stories of 11 eaters from all walks of life across Australia and shines a light on overcoming the challenges of Covid-19 and the climate and cost of living crises. These eaters are helping to build a new food system based on culture, community and personal, public and ecosystem health, without blowing the household budget.

If you’d like to help AFSA reach their target, donate to the Eating Democracy crowdfunding campaign before it closes on 19 September and claim one of their many contributor rewards.
