Take a step towards a healthier and more active lifestyle with our FREE 5x5 program at Berkelely this July! 5x5 is a free, non-competitive walking event for the whole community.

Set out over a 5km route, the course is completed once a week for 5 weeks. Walking is a great way to improve your physical health and stay energised throughout the day. Plus, by walking with like-minded people, you will also benefit from the social connections and positive energy that comes from being a part of the community.

We will meet at Holborn Park at 10:00am and head 2.5km along the lake before returning to the starting point. For this series, we are inviting a number of local experts to share stories about Lake Illawarra and Hooka Creek and celebrate the Place of Healing installation at the Hooka Creek Bridge.

Enjoy the chance to meet new people and chat with our friendly health promotion officers and volunteers. Light refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the walk.

The event takes place on 5 consecutive Tuesday mornings:

  • Tuesday 22 July, 10:00 - 12:00 am
  • Tuesday 29 July, 9:30 - 12:00 am
  • Tuesday 5 August, 9:30 - 12:00 am
  • Tuesday 12 August, 9:30 - 12:00 am
  • Tuesday 19 August, 9:30 - 12:00 am

Things to Remember: Please bring a water bottle and hat Parking is available at Holborn Park, however, please consider sustainable transport options such as walking, cycling, or catching the bus (Route 34).
