The Wollongong Doll Club is holding its 41st Annual Fair, the only Doll Fair on the South Coast at the Ribbonwood Centre, Dapto on the 19th October 2024 from 9:30am to 4pm. Entry Fee: Adults $5 & children free with a paying adult.
Our Doll, Bear, Craft & Collectables Fair attracts traders from all over: the Illawarra, Sydney and country NSW. We are a ‘not for profit’ group which supports local hospitals, charities & organisations. So all are welcome to come and help us to raise the much-needed money for our local hospitals & charities to survive. Grab some raffle tickets and have a chance to win some excellent prizes. There will be lots to see & buy: dolls & bears both preloved & new. Doll accessories, craft items & jewellery as well. Kids can capture a cute photo at the free ‘Bear Photo Booth’ Have an old doll & don’t know it’s worth. Come & get it valued. Free Valuations (2 per person) Entry Fee: $5 (Children free with a paying adult)
About our Club
The Wollongong Doll Club Inc is a not-for-profit organisation which raises money for local hospitals, charities and organisations. Our club, established in 1982, has donated over $226,000 since our inception. Which is a very remarkable feat when you consider that we are a very small group of ladies.
We meet at 10:00am every 2nd Saturday of the month (except Jan & Dec) in the Scribbly Gum Room in the Ribbonwood Centre at Dapto.
Doll Club meetings include displays, competitions, raffles, trade sales, and the occasional visitor or a celebration to support. In November, we are supporting SAHSSI (Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra) by bringing in needed supplies to help st women in crisis. We also get visited by many people bringing in a loved doll or teddy bear in need of urgent repair. Some of our members have excellent skills at repairing these damaged dolls / bears and always manage to bring genuine smiles when an item Is returned to their owners.
We hold our annual Doll, Bear, Craft & Collectables Fair at the Ribbonwood Centre in October, (3rd Saturday) a wonderful event attracting traders from all over: the Illawarra, Sydney, country NSW and interstate. This year is our 41st FAIR and it is our major fund raising activity for the year, so your support at this event is greatly appreciated.
Our Doll & Bear Rescue is a very successful activity with the community donating dolls, bears and related items which are revamped by members and sold at our Fair and other venues to raise money for charity. This reuse and recycle initiative reduces the goods going to landfill.
Members enjoy social events, outings, bus trips, coffee mornings, volunteer work, local environmental clean ups and we celebrate the year with a Christmas lunch in December.
