Group exhibition by members of the Illawarra Association for the Visual Arts (IAVA)
14– 26 November, open 10am to 4pm.
Opening Friday 17th at 6pm
This exhibition showcases the art of over 20 members of IAVA and addresses the theme: ‘Passage of Time’ from diverse perspectives, including personal and life; relationships; climate; nature; creativity and the local environment (home and garden, built and natural environments).
IAVA was formed in 2011 by a small group of local contemporary artists who wanted to create a cooperative which is supportive and nurturing of its members and that serves to raise the profile of contemporary artists and art in the Illawarra area and beyond. They now number over 40 members. Artists range in experience from emerging to those of national or international renown. One feature of IAVA’s artists is that they create work that is reflective of their personal experiences and not necessarily following trends of the day. This means that any visitor to their exhibitions will discover art that is fresh and unique as well as of a high integrity and quality.
