Illawarra Folk Club presents We Mavericks in Concert with Rusty & Marco We Mavericks: Real-life troubadours and masters in the art of connection, Victoria Vigenser and Lindsay Martin interweave effortless strings, soulful vocals and driving rhythms to form a singular musical voice. Their original songs have an unexplainable, worldly appeal – you might call it contemp-folk, alt-country or acoustic-pop, but no words capture their musical kinship or the heartfelt way they relate to their audiences.

This year they appear with a formidable string section comprising Australia’s premier cellists/multi-instrumentalists Rachel Johnston and Trent Arkleysmith. We Mavericks are currently touring their new album ‘Heart of Silver’ throughout Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Support Act – Rusty and Marco: Mark Ballesi (Marco) and Russell Churcher (Rusty) are long-time folk musicians who share a love of the singer/songwriter tradition. Their rich vocal harmonies and down-to-earth instrumentation on guitar, banjo and dobro bring to life songs, both classic and original.
