Possibly the last major exhibition of the artist’s work at Articles Fine Art Gallery in Stanwell Park, this show launches on Saturday, 9 September, with music by Fiddledance, champagne and savouries.
Born in country Victoria in 1939, Max Mannix left home at 16 to work in the outback – mustering, shearing and fencing. For seven years he ran a cattle station in south-west Queensland, in a dry area known as Heart-Break Corner. His paintings are inspired by this time.

Pictured above is Max’s Dryzabone oil. The artist will attend the Saturday 9th opening party, when the gallery will be open from 10am-4pm.
