Nan Tien International Women’s Day 2025 Charity Meditation Fundraiser
8 March 2025 9:30am - 12:30pm
Nan Tien Temple 180 Berkeley Rd Berkeley
https://www.nantien.org.au/en/

Be part of an unforgettable journey to peace and purpose! Bookings via Humanitix.

Join us for the largest regional Meditation & Tai Chi event, guided by the Venerables at Nan Tien Temple, where mindfulness meets kindness. Together, we’ll honour the United Nations’ International Women’s Day (IWD 2025) with a fundraising event for Women Illawarra, echoing the #AccelerateAction theme to empower and uplift women everywhere.

Why Attend?

  • Immerse yourself in mindful practices like meditation and Tai Chi, connecting with others who share your values of peace and compassion.
  • Engage in meaningful conversations with Women Illawarra staff, event supporters, and the monastics, as we work to inspire community over competition and prioritise health and well-being.
  • Show your support for women in need through this charity meditation fundraiser, so together we contribute to real-world change.

Special FREE Screening!
Enjoy a screening of the international award-winning local short film Frances (35 min) by award-winning filmmaker Sharon Lewis, Vice Chair of Screen Illawarra. Sharon will be joined by Juliet Scrine, who stars as Frances, for a heartfelt discussion on the film’s themes and its reflection of the struggles and resilience of women.

By participating in this initiative, you are not only supporting local women through Women Illawarra but also contributing to the health of the wider community and to the global objectives aimed at creating a more sustainable and equitable world in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

You will experience:

  • Positivity & joy
  • The collective bliss of mindfulness
  • The resonating ceremonial sounds of the Buddhist blessing chants for all women
  • Community at the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere
  • Watch the short film Frances and see why is its popular at overseas film festivals.

Sharing the same commitment to meditation practice, compassion and our community, we thank our enthusiastic Event Supporters for their efforts.
