From July 26 to August 10, Wollongong Against War and Nukes (WAWAN) will be holding an exciting three-week program of activities at the Wollongong Art Gallery. The Gallery have kindly given us the use of a beautiful space and we have lots of interesting events planned. It’s a great opportunity for you to join us in creating activism which is fun, collaborative and effective. Come and contribute, enjoy and learn.
So far we will be designing and making badges, screen printing t-shirts, tote bags and t-towels and making and decorating paper lanterns for the Hiroshima Lantern Parade. Remember Hiroshima March for Peace will be held at dusk on Saturday, 9 August at 5pm, assembling at Civic Plaza.
Sunday, 3 August will be a concert of Music and Words for Peace and against War and AUKUS, Beats not Bombs. This will be in the large Bluescope/Chambers Gallery upstairs and is free.
A dedicated kids activities day will be on Saturday, 2 August and also after school through the week.
Get in touch to be involved with the planning or volunteer to spend a morning with us in the studio space. Call by and visit and check out how you can be involved.
