Transport for NSW Traffic Alert: 16 June 2026
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions this weekend to allow for extensive work to be carried out around Mount Ousley Road as part of the Mount Ousley interchange project.
Mount Ousley Road will be closed between Gaynor Avenue and the M1 Princes Motorway from midnight Friday 19 June to 4am Monday 22 June.
Should this closure not go ahead, it will be rescheduled for the following weekend from midnight Friday 26 June to 4am Monday 29 June 2026.
Detours will be in place via Princes Highway, Memorial Drive and University Avenue and motorists should allow up to five minutes of additional travel time.
Local access to Mount Ousley Road between the Princes Highway and Gaynor Avenue will be maintained.
The southbound University Avenue ramp will be temporarily widened to 4.5 metres to facilitate access to the University Avenue overpass for southbound heavy vehicles over 4.6 metres high. Northbound heavy vehicles over 4.9 metres high will be parked up and escorted through the work site when conditions permit. Delays of up to two hours should be expected.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
The M1 Princes Motorway northbound and southbound lanes will remain open for all vehicles.
Electronic message signs will advertise road closure dates in advance.
Transport for NSW thanks the community for their patience while this work is carried out.
