Thirroul Probus – 'a very active club'
By Yvonne Bryce, Thirroul Probus publicity officer
Thirroul Probus had a busy December, celebrating Christmas with a party attended by 100 members who enjoyed a delicious meal and dancing at Club Thirroul. Many of us also enjoyed pre-Christmas drinks at the Boathouse in Wollongong.
The theatre group enjoyed an outing to see Pretty Woman the Musical and our caravan and cabin group, consisting of 60 members, loved their five days in Merimbula, including lovely walks, an oyster tour and a Melbourne Cup party. A small group of members also enjoyed a few days in Tasmania.
Our very active club are continuing the monthly events in 2026. These include book club, trivia, golf, cycling, walking, coffee club, barefoot bowls, buzzer lunches, Sunday sippers and small group dining.
Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month and have been very well attended. We have had very interesting guest speakers at each meeting who speak on a wide range of topics. Our club focusses on fun and friendship and it is wonderful to see so many people participating in the many activities on offer.
