Carla has been bringing stunning birthday and cupcakes to the Illawarra for years now. You might have spotted her smiling face at her regularly sold-out stall at the uni markets.
This year she is offering Christmas-themed cupcakes in three designs: cute, classy and Chrissy dessert. Think: reindeers and wreaths, dustings of icing sugar and spectacular pipings of red and green.

Sugar Butter Eggs
The bad news is Woonona’s much-loved tearoom will be closing in March 2024 as owners Harmony and Tom move on to their next adventure. The good news is they are going out in style with gorgeous gingerbread houses available to order now. Decorated with loads of ‘snow’ and lollies, they make the perfect centrepiece to your Christmas table.
There’s also still time to have that special pre-Chrissy get together with the tearoom offering their famous high teas, a lovely moment of calm amid the chaos of the silly season.

Miller’s Local Bakehouse
Anyone driving through Bulli on Saturdays would have noticed a long line snaking up the road. They may have even noticed me standing in it. Miller’s Local Bakehouse, makers of pastry deliciousness, has made quite an impact since opening in Bulli and in various pop-up locations around the Illawarra.
This Christmas they’re offering a range of take-home options including bake-at-home almond croissants, burnt Basque cheesecake and a build-your-own meringue layer cake; a pavlova to outdo all pavlovas, consisting of three crisp meringue discs, whipped cream and Miller’s own buttery lemon curd.
