Enjoy modern bush tucker at The Farm Kiosk this NAIDOC Week

The Farm Kiosk in Killalea Regional Park at Shellharbour is on Dharawal country. With its spectacular views across the park to The Farm surf beach, it is worth visiting anytime but particularly so during the next couple of weeks.

The eatery serves modern bush tucker and is celebrating NAIDOC Week throughout the school holidays. The Farm Kiosk is operated by Bunjalung man and Illawarra resident Mark Olive aka “The Black Olive”, an ambassador for Indigenous food and hospitality.

Locals and visitors have long known and loved the area for its world-class surf breaks, fishing, remnant rainforest, birdwatching and picturesque vistas.

Killalea Regional Park was transferred to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service in July 2022. The site is also known as The Farm, a homage to previous land use, and named for Edward Killalea, who cleared the area for a farm in 1847.

The site was farmed until the 1960s and was declared a national surfing reserve in 2009.

NPWS refers to it as “the jewel in the crown of the Illawarra” and it's well worth a visit these holidays.

Make sure you check out the Farm Kiosk while you’re there.
