The Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival will begin with the 2024 Art Show opening tonight.
The festival started over 30 years ago to support local artists. Today it fulfils the same quest via an extensive and awe inspiring Art Show that runs throughout the weekend at the Thirroul Community Centre.
The 2024 Art Show has attracted over 250 pieces of art, including paintings, sculptures and photography. All are for sale with an array of pricing that will suit any budget.
“The Art Show is a great way to view varied pieces of art, all in one place. There’s nothing like seeing art in person and discovering that special piece that becomes a wow factor in your home or office” said festival committee member, Kim Morris.
Unfortunately, the Family Fun Day at Thirroul Beach Reserve on Sunday has been cancelled. This is due to the inclement weather predicted all weekend.
"The Art Exhibition is now our main focus for the weekend," Kim said on Friday. "The Art Exhibition is on at the Thirroul Community Centre. All art is for sale, perfect for a variety of budgets."
The show will be open 10am-4pm on Saturday and 10am-2pm on Sunday.
The Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival is a project of the Austinmer Thirroul Lions Club. The event raises funds for local charities and people in need. Last year $39,000 was divided between Illawarra Convoy, The Disability Trust’s Kidswish and the Lions NSW Flood Relief Fund.
“Supporting and enjoying the festival means you’re doing your bit in helping our community. So make a date with a mate, get into the spirit of things and join in the fun!
