Hey, Tuesday readers
The MMJ Aquathon is back this Thursday, January 26 public holiday, at Wollongong Harbour. Photo supplied.

Where has the sunny summer weather disappeared to? Maybe if we cross our fingers and hope for its return, we’ll see it back in the Illawarra shortly. After all, last week the Bureau of Meteorology announced that La Niña is expected to ease over the remainder of summer … but does that mean an end to the rain?

This week I spoke to Rob Battocchio, founder and organiser of Wollongong’s iconic MMJ Aquathon. As it enters its 23rd year on Thursday, January 26, Rob explains that fun is at the heart of the swim-run charity event and shares why people of all ages and abilities should get involved.

And the beach that truly has it all – Bulli – is Beach of the Week. Thanks to Bulli SLSC president Jamie Caldwell for sharing what we need to know before we go.

Catch you later,

Caitlin Sloan
