Welcome to the last foodie e-newsletter for this year. What a ride!
Since September I have met so many smart, committed, passionate people who supply our community with great products and produce. In this edition, I ask some of them to share their plans for Christmas.
Speaking of passionate locals, I meet Chris from Second Fiddle Smokehouse, who supplies our community with delicious trout, smoked the old-fashioned way.
I join some Stir It Up! peer educators to produce an easy Christmas spread and provide a recipe for a vegetarian alternative to chicken nuggets.
I also follow up on the wicked problem of soft plastics, with a summit held at UOW Innovation Campus. We heard from experts in the field of recycling and discussed what we can do as a community to reduce the amount of soft plastics waste, particularly in food packaging.
Remember to eat well and eat local this Christmas and beyond.
Enjoy,
Susan Luscombe
