Registrations are now open for the Nippers 2025/26 season at Helensburgh Stanwell Park Surf Club.
The season kicks off on Sunday, 19 October and runs weekly through to early March, with a short break over the Christmas holiday period. The program returns with all the energy and community spirit it’s known for, offering kids and families a chance to reconnect with the beach, the surf club, and each other.
Nippers is designed to help children build confidence in the water, learn vital surf safety skills, and develop lifelong habits around fitness, teamwork, and resilience. Open to children aged five and up, the program blends games, beach activities and basic surf education in a fun, supportive environment.
It’s about more than just swimming, it’s about giving kids the tools to feel strong and safe in the surf, while also having a great time and making new friends along the way.
For many families, Nippers is a weekly highlight and a wonderful introduction to the surf lifesaving community. Whether it’s your first season or you’re returning for another year, it’s a great way to stay active, meet other local families, and be part of a tradition that’s been supporting Australian beachgoers for over 100 years.

All children must complete an age-appropriate proficiency swim before their first session, as required by Surf Life Saving Australia. Without it, they won’t be able to participate. Swims will be held at Coalcliff Pool (Paterson Road) on Saturday, 27 September from 9:00-10:30am, and Sunday, 12 October from 2-3:30 pm. Drop in anytime during those windows.
