Children’s Book Week 2024
Book Week is back from 17-23 August. This year’s theme – 'Reading is Magic' – celebrates the amazing power of stories to transport minds and encouraging kids to be curious about the wonders in our world. The magic of reading also lies in the conversations a good story can provoke, connecting readers with other readers.
Thirroul and Helensburgh Library will be celebrating Book Week with some fun in-library activities and plenty of wonderful displays to enjoy.
Some of the Older Reader (ages 13-18) short-listed titles you can borrow are:
- A hunger of thorns by Lili Wilkinson
- Grace Notes by Karen Comer
- Inkflower by Suzy Zail
- Let's never speak of this again by Megan Williams
- The quiet and the loud by Helena Fox
- Two can play that game by Leanne Yong
