Local not-for-profit NINA is seeking volunteers
'Through volunteering with NINA I have made good friends with Muriel Smith aka Nanna Moo,' says Louise Field. Photo supplied

At Northern Illawarra Neighbour Aid (NINA) are always looking for volunteers to contribute to all aspects of NINA services. Bus drivers, individual transport drivers, doing grocery shopping for clients, helping at our social support groups or on our shopping trips and outings. We are also looking for volunteers to join our committee.

Could this be you?

  • Commitment to community service and welfare of others
  • Experience in organisational planning and operations
  • Appreciation of not-for-profit business issues
  • Preferably an awareness of developments in home-based aged care
  • Ideally a knowledge of and interest in the Northern Illawarra
  • Willingness to contribute time and ideas without financial rewards
  • Availability to meet on second Wednesday morning of each month

If you’re interested in joining our committee or volunteering for NINA in another way please get in touch.

NINA is open Monday–Friday (8.30am-4.30pm), telephone 02 4294 1900 or visit 18 Walker Street, Helensburgh.

NINA is a local not-for-profit, community-based organisation serving clients from Helensburgh to Woonona.

NINA receives funding from the NSW Government to assist commuters who find it hard to access general public transport. If you have limited or no access to private or public transport due to your location, financial resources, physical or cognitive capacities, when you need to travel then NINA can help you! If you think you are transport disadvantaged and need assistance, then please give the office a call 4294 1900.

Bookings for our regular outings may be made through the office. Please call in advance as some tickets need to be pre purchased. There are a limited number of seats on buses. We pick up and drop off direct to your home.

Find a full list of outings in August on page 21 of the Flame's August edition or visit the NINA website.
