Make Massaman Curry Beef

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 400g gravy beef (cut in large cubes)
  • 1 can Massaman curry paste
  • 1 can coconut cream
  • 2 tbsp palm sugar
  • 2 tbsp tamarind juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Potatoes (cut in large cubes)
  • Onion, chopped

Method

  1. Stirfry Massaman curry paste with a little oil, mix and then add the beef and seal.
  2. Add coconut cream and 1 cup of water, mix to steam, cook the beef.
  3. Continue to simmer until the beef is very tender but not falling apart.
  4. Add potatoes and onions.
  5. Season with palm sugar, tamarind juice and salt until the beef is tender and falls apart.
  6. Top with peanuts and fried shallots.
  7. Serve with jasmine rice.

Tips

Massaman curry paste can be found in Woolworths.

Massaman curry taste is sweet to start, then goes sour, then salty in the end.
