Community groups and local organisations across the Heathcote electorate are being encouraged to apply for a share of $1 million in funding as part of the NSW Government’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity. The Strong Together Festival and Event Grants Program will provide funding between $5,000 and $20,000 to support multicultural festival and events across the state in 2025 early 2026.
The first round of funding includes $500,000 for events taking place between 1 September 2025 and 31 March 2026, with a second round open later this year for events running between April and September 2026.
Grants are available to eligible community groups, not-for-profits, and faith-based organisations planning events that promote social cohesion and multicultural celebration. Last year Helensburgh's Sri Venkateswara Temple received funding to host the 10-day Siva Mahotsavam 2025 Festival, which drew thousands of people to the district in February.
Member for Heathcote Maryanne Stuart said: “The NSW Government is continuing to invest in multiculturalism in this state. This is about supporting our local communities to celebrate who they are and where they come from, and I strongly encourage our diverse community leaders to seize this opportunity.
"NSW is home to many cultures, and this funding will help bring people together to share food, music, dance, and heritage in a way that builds understanding and connection.”
Applications are now open and close at 5pm on Monday, 7 July 2025. For more information or to apply, visit the government's website
