Night closures ahead for Kangaroo Valley's Hampden Bridge
Transport for NSW provides an update on changed traffic conditions on Hampden Bridge at Kangaroo Valley
Motorists are advised of upcoming night closures of Hampden Bridge for repair work to be carried out to replace damaged elements of the timber truss along the bottom of the bridge.
Hampden Bridge will be closed to motorists from 8pm to 4am on Sunday 19 April, and from 6pm to 6am from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 April, weather permitting.
During closures, detours will be in place via the Illawarra Highway at Macquarie Pass and the Princes Highway, adding up to 90 minutes to travel times. There will be no night closures on Macquarie Pass during this night work.
Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge during work under the guidance of traffic control.
Night work will be carried out on Friday 24 April from 7pm to 4am, weather permitting. Access across Hampden Bridge will be maintained during this time with stop/slow traffic control in place.
From Monday 27 April work will continue from 7am to 6pm on weekdays, weather permitting.
During daytime work, Hampden Bridge will remain open to traffic under stop/slow traffic control, with a reduced speed limit of 10 km/h in place for trucks and buses.
Road users are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
