Four new directors at Flame Tree Co-op

Last month I resigned as Assistant Manager of Flame Tree Co-op in Thirroul to pursue other interests (including writing about food for the Illawarra Flame).

At the recent Flame Tree annual general meeting four new directors were appointed to the board, with one director, Kylie Flament, remaining. The new board members are Paul Spencer (who returns after a few years absence), Rod Logan, Mali Hawkins and me!

Thanks to outgoing board members for their service – Justin Licht, Sally Skyring, Kirk Bendall and Sarah Anderson.

The next few months will be challenging for the co-op with long term Retail Manager, Gini Purcell, leaving to relocate to Melbourne. We wish Gini all the best and thank her for her ever-present passion, knowledge and humanity, not to mention her uncanny ability to make little people from vegetables!

We really need our community to get behind Flame Tree at this important time. By supporting Flame Tree you are supporting a small business and fair and local food. As a co-operative, we have a membership, but you don’t have to be a member to shop at Flame Tree.
