RISE with SPAT

Stanwell Park Arts Theatre (SPAT) is very proud to continue our long tradition of presenting original works and supporting emerging playwrights.

RISE is the culmination of a play-writing competition conducted by SPAT and the three short plays being presented on Saturday, 17th August were selected by a panel of experienced directors. The three successful playwrights are Leo Metzker, Will York and Dell Brand – our congratulations to all three.

The show will be presented as rehearsed readings, which means with scripts in hand. This certainly takes the pressure off memorising lines!

If you would like to be part of the action, come along on Friday, 9th August, to an Information Session at the Stanwell Park CWA Hall at 7pm where there will be casual auditions and scripts distributed.

If performing isn’t your thing, simply come along and enjoy the evening on the Saturday, 17th August as part of the audience. The Stanwell Park CWA are providing refreshments and BYO is fine. We look forward to a laid-back evening showcasing these new works. The show will also feature a Q&A session with the playwrights providing a unique opportunity for them to receive feedback directly from an audience.

And of course SPAT’s 50th celebration weekend on 19th-20th October is getting closer! Watch out for some history, some entertainment and lots of fun. LIGHTS UP!
