Second annual Women’s T20 Turf Round returns this Sunday

The Cricket Illawarra Women’s T20 competition is set to light up the region this weekend, with the second annual turf round taking place this Sunday, 23 November across North Dalton Park and West Dalton Park.

The special round has quickly become a standout feature of the women’s cricket calendar, giving players the opportunity to compete on top-quality turf wickets while showcasing the continued growth of the women’s game in the Illawarra.

The event is also a chance for supporters to enjoy a full day of cricket featuring clubs from across the district.

Four matches will be played across the two venues:

• 10:00am: Bally Maggies vs Wollongong Gems – North Dalton Park
• 11:00am: Wests She Devils vs Dapto Canariettes – West Dalton Park
• 12:30pm: ND Butchers Aqua vs Keira Lionesses – North Dalton Park
• 1:30pm: ND Butchers Royal vs Bally UOW Mighty Ducks – West Dalton Park

Spectators are encouraged to come down, support their teams and enjoy the community atmosphere. A canteen will operate from 9:30am to 4pm, offering pies, bacon and egg rolls, a sausage sizzle and more. A full bar will also be open from 12 noon.

Cricket Illawarra says it is looking forward to another strong celebration of women’s cricket as interest and participation continues to grow across the region.
