On Tuesday, June 6 at 8:30 am Sharkeys Bushcare invites you to come and have a look at our site and see how it’s going. We’re a small Bushcare group, but we’ve made a big impact on our site above Sharkeys Beach, and are keen to show it off.

Please RSVP to Mark Fetterplace 0407 412 360 if you’d like to come. Duration will be up to an hour.

And in the meantime… what can you do to help Bushcare without leaving your home?

Most of the weeds we deal with are escapees from gardens. One that is becoming a bigger problem is Turkey Rhubarb. See NSW WeedWise for more information.

If you have this plant, you need to dig out all the tubers and put them in your green Fogo bin. THEN, you need to keep rechecking for bits you have missed that are regrowing.

Doing this would be a huge help to bushcare sites everywhere. If you are not sure you have Turkey Rhubarb, please send me some pictures and I’ll see if I can help.
