Illawarra Women’s Day of Dance and Culture
A couple of hundred women from all walks of life gathered in the hall of Edmund Rice College to celebrate 2023 International Women’s Day with the theme “Embrace Equity”.
Healthy Cities Illawarra, Multicultural Communities Council and SCARF hosted the event, which brought together women of all ages and cultures. We heard from Dr Jodi Edwards, who welcomed us to Dharawal country and shared local stories. Three local women shared their stories of inspiration. We were treated to Indian food followed by baklawa and joined in with Bollywood dancers.
We are looking forward to celebrating together next year.
