Thanks to Merrigong, the Flame's Susan Luscombe attended the opening night of Le Coup on Wednesday 21st. Her verdict: 'A night of raucous fun!' Be quick, the Spiegeltent packs up on Sunday.

The Boss (aka Jacqueline Furey) struts on stage, taking command. Not only is she the show’s MC but a renowned fire eater, sword swallower and whip cracker.

The rest of the crew are Sally the Alley Cat, Beaver the Diva, King of the Ring and Fred, a hand balancer who provides the awe-inspiring finale. All have illustrious careers in circus and performance spanning the globe.

Juggling, skipping, aerial work and audience participation (well done to brave audience member “Dingo Dundee”) are accompanied by a trio of talented multi-instrumentalists – The Bookie, Father Grant and drummer and vocalist Bloody Mary who create an atmosphere of joy and wonder.

Le Coup is playing at the Spiegeltent every night until Sunday, 25 June. It's at the Arts Precinct, 32 Burelli St, Wollongong. Book tickets via Merrigong
