Hello, Thursday readers,
This week you will meet two local foodies called Luke – Luke Murphy, custodian of Farmers By Choice, and Luke Whiddett, owner of The Illawarra Private Chef Service.
Luke Murphy has grown food for the community on a large block of land in suburban Bulli for many years, with his quality eggs and honey currently sold through the farmgate. This is food localism at its finest.
Luke Whiddett is a local boy who has followed his passion for cheffing since leaving school. Personal health issues led Luke on a journey to discover healthy eating and cooking, landing him at a popular new cafe behind the Woonona School of Arts.
What great growing weather we have had this last few weeks – sunny, warm and wet (enough). This is reflected in fresh produce availability. Check out what’s in season in the fruit and veg world. Pineapples anyone? Good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, savoury or sweet.
Enjoy,
Susan
