Hey, Tuesday readers

This week, I spoke to high school teacher Shannon McLoughlin about her start-up, Tidebreak Towels, and the unique design that she and partner Tom brought to life in July last year. Frustrated with frequently fanning her pup's sandy paw prints off her towel and chasing it down the beach in the breeze, she took matters into her own hands and designed the Weighted Beach Towel – a must-have for the regular beachgoer (and even the budding superhero).

I also introduce a new series featuring local craft brewers, starting with Wollongong's Five Barrel Brewing. Co-owner Phillip O'Shea tells us how he turned a high school homebrewing hobby into a thriving family business.

And everyone's favourite surf scientist, Rob Brander, aka Dr Rip, explains basic wave physics in 'The Magic of Wave Power'.
