It might be the last day of summer, but it's certainly not the last day of activity on our beaches!
Over the weekend, Coalcliff Surf Life Saving Club kicked off its centenary celebrations with a Comedy for a Cause night at Tradies Helensburgh on Saturday, February 25. Headline act Peter Berner – who has appeared at many comedy festivals around Australia – was joined by talented comedians Dave Williams, Laura Hughes and Mat Wakefield to help celebrate the occasion and raise money for the club.
Coalcliff SLSC President James McFarlane said more than 110 people attended the night, helping to raise more than $1000.
This week, I also take you through 10 of the best beachside eateries where it's perfectly acceptable to tie a towel around your waist and stop in for a coffee, brekkie or lunch.
And, finally, Beach of the Week is Fairy Meadow, with Fairy Meadow Surf Life Saving Club's chief training officer, Jeremy Kuiper, taking us through what we need to know before we go.
Catch you later,
Caitlin Sloan
