Fruit

Apples have had a great season, so are still around in abundance. Why don’t you try our local apples from Glenbernie Orchard.

Pears are in decline now. Navel oranges, lemons and grapefruit are still good, as are bananas from north Queensland. Avocadoes are abundant and cheap, so smashed avo on toast is a great option now.

Vegetables

Broccoli is returning to our shelves after a prolonged absence. Cauli, beans and beetroot are in good supply. Carrots are around but expensive due to adverse growing conditions.

There is a glut of pumpkins, so cook up a batch of pumpkin soup and freeze some for later. Zucchinis have been in short supply and expensive but will improve in the coming weeks. There is a steady supply of parsnips which are great for soups too.

Welcome to Spring!
