This week I chatted with one of the directors from the first board of Flame Tree Co-op, Amanda Harris. As a new arrival to Thirroul more than 10 years ago, Amanda joined with a team of determined volunteers to build a valuable resource for the northern suburbs. Amanda shares her recipe for the much-loved lentil soup, a favourite at fundraiser events from the early days of Flame Tree.
The inaugural FOODTALKS event was held, with local fair food leaders Berbel Franse and Sarah Anderson leading the discussion about the food system in the Illawarra, a subject dear to my heart. I look forward to reporting on more from FOODTALKS.
And I visit the food stalls at Friday Crown St Markets in Wollongong, collecting some goodies as well as photos.
