I'm always banging on about how being in nature is good for us, and I try (and often fail) to practise what I preach. A study was released this week that not only shows us that time spent gardening is good for our mental health and overall life satisfaction, but is also happy to actually specify just how much gardening we need to do to experience the benefits. If you're aged 46-80, you won't want to miss this story.

Also in today's newsletter, Thirroul's Duane Byrnes from Alone Australia gives us a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the new cult-hit survival series coming to SBS. Emma from Growing Illawarra Natives joins us again, this week introducing the teeny, tiny but very lovely Lobelia. Merilyn from Helensburgh Landcare shares a weed to watch: Madeira vine.

And I meet Bulli celebrity and much adored local Samson and his owner Amanda. I should point out that Sammy is a gorgeous Clydesdale horse but he's also a bit of a scaredy cat!

Until next week,

Amanda
