Halfway through the year at Helensburgh Public School – what a journey!

By Helensburgh Public School teacher Nina Sampson

As we reach the halfway mark of the school year, Helensburgh Public School students continue to engage in a variety of enriching activities that foster creativity and a sense of belonging. From dance and drama to choir, filmmaking, drumming, knitting, Lego building, and lunchtime reading sessions, there are many opportunities for students to connect and thrive.

A highlight for many has been participating in Enrichment Days at Heathcote High School, where they explored new challenges and broadened their horizons. Our excursions to Darling Harbour and Science Space in Wollongong have also enhanced learning through hands-on discovery beyond the classroom.

Creativity has flourished during Art Days, while school spirit has shone brightly at our Athletics Carnivals and Spelling Bees.

Of course, our school discos have provided a fun opportunity for students to celebrate and create lasting memories with their friends. We love sharing these moments and the great learning that is happening with our community.
