Digging deep to support the Salvos’ Red Shield Appeal
Out and about supporting the Red Shield Appeal on Sunday were (from left) Lauren Lin, Annabelle Whittaker, Holly Hutchinson, Garion Whittaker, Matthew Lin, Fione Seymour, Ella Ainsworth (aka Shieldy), William Searle, Jordyn Walker and Ty Adlington.

Volunteers were out in force across the Illawarra today for the 60th anniversary of The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.

Despite the current cost-of-living crisis, people gave generously as hundreds knocked on doors and took to the streets to collect much-needed money for Australians doing it tough.

Every 17 seconds, The Salvation Army helps someone in need and the Salvos have been helping our most vulnerable for over 140 years – providing shelter, safety and support.

Over the past year alone, the Salvos have assisted more than 250,000 people and distributed financial assistance worth almost $25 million to Aussies impacted by crisis, disaster and hardship.

For more information and to donate, visit the Salvos website.
