Final call for SCWC Poetry Award submissions

The South Coast Writers Centre 2026 Poetry Award closes on Sunday, 22 March. Held in association with the Wollongong Art Gallery exhibition Set States, which brings together a selection of video works by Kate Mitchell, this year the Poetry Award invites submissions responding to the theme ‘states’. 

Entries will be judged by esteemed poet Julie Janson, co-recipient of the Oodgeroo Noonuccal Poetry Prize 2016 and winner of the Judith Wright Poetry Prize 2019, and Peter Frankis, Chair of the SCWC board.

First Prize will receive $1000, with $100 for Second Prize, the Ron Pretty SCWC Member Award, and the Wollongong Art Gallery Ekphrastic Award. All winning and shortlisted entries will be published in the 2027 South Coast Writers Centre Anthology of Writing.

Book a stall at Vintage, Book & Art Bazaar

The popular Vintage, Book & Art Bazaar makes its return to Coledale Hall in April! The South Coast Writers Centre is looking for local artists, crafters, and vintage and retro sellers to apply as stallholders to our one-day, indoor all-weather market on Sunday 26 April. Held on the same day as the Coledale Markets just up the road at Coledale Public School, this is sure to be a popular weekend event you won’t want to miss out on!
