Around the World in 72 Days is a wonderful pantomime coming to the stage for its opening weekend. This spectacular show is brought to the local community by the growing DUST Theatre Collective, presented to audiences at the charming Woonona Bulli School of Arts.
DUST is absolutely excited to invite you to join us on this adventure! Tickets are selling fast; this is your chance to reserve seats for a fun and inspiring night at the local community theatre with your family and friends.
Around the World in 72 Days radiates joy and wonder. Our pantomime re-adapts Jules Verne's beloved and classic Around the World in 80 Days; however, DUST instead focuses on Journalist Nellie Bly's journey.
The show highlights Nellie’s passion, motivation, and ambition as she travels the world in 72 days. Nellie aims to prove the world is round and show she is more than capable. As Nellie races the Queen and her son Willy, audiences hear powerful stories often left untold.
This pantomime features the classic archetypes, but experiments with and evolves them. Purchase your tickets to witness hilariously evil villains, heroic protagonists, dazzling dames, and silly comedic reliefs. This show truly has something for everyone in the family!
Around the World in 72 Days has been born out of an incredibly original program, “Let’s Make a Panto”, which aims to mentor young, and not-so-young emerging talent, and give them a chance to grow their theatre-making, production, and performance skills – encouraging difference and the stories that are born from difference!

With the help of Kelly-Maree Michael and Rosanne Travers, Around the World in 72 Days has allowed several writers and directors of all ages, with evolving experience, to come together in community, to be mentored and educated on how to create a piece of theatre – and that is precisely what has emerged from “Let’s Make a Panto”.
Each participating talent has written their own original section of the pantomime. Without this talent, the pantomime would not be the piece of theatre it is today.
That is precisely what makes DUST unique – DUST provides youth and people of all ages a chance to create something powerful, encouraging, and passionate onstage. The voice and power of the future come specifically from our youth today, and that power mustn’t be ignored; it should be encouraged and empowered.
Around the World in 72 Days does precisely that. DUST has not only provided opportunities to write, direct, produce, and help behind the scenes – for myself, it has allowed me to learn about media and marketing, giving me and others the chance to help grow the theatre through social media.
This show, and theatre collective, are unique, bringing light to emerging creatives who have something to say, and the immense talent to say these things in powerful ways. Purchase your tickets and reserve your seats for this wonderful production via the Humanitix link below.
Our show dates include the 13th, 14th, 19th, 20th and 21st of December! We promise you will leave the theatre in awe of the incredible creatives of all ages in our community, inspired, and feeling complete joy. Oh! And, of course, leaving with a case of the giggles too.
