Public Education Week 2026 was held from 3-7 August, and this year’s theme was Inspiring Excellence.
On Thursday, August 6th, Helensburgh Public School celebrated Public Education Day with a special event that acknowledged student achievements and showcased their performances. The K–2 choir and 3–6 choir provided quality, entertaining performances, while the K–2 dance group impressed everyone with its energetic routine. Additionally, the drumming group and the school band delivered engaging performances.

As a public education school, we value excellence and equity by providing high-quality teaching and diverse opportunities, including many extracurricular activities, such as performance groups, filmmaking, debating, the Student Representative Council, extension mathematics, art enrichment, and environmental groups.
To recognise our students' potential across various domains, awards were presented for their achievements in academics, leadership, sports, and creativity. After the assembly, many families visited open classrooms to view the students' learning throughout the year.
Public Education Day was a fantastic day at Helensburgh Public School, made memorable by our wonderful students, staff, and parents and carers.
