Hello there my Monday readers,
So, we did something silly and we bought a puppy. Yes, that's right – I have three kids under five and a new puppy. I see everyone's expressions when I tell them: the slight widening of the eyes, the chuckle, the "tsk, tsk" – but just look at that face! She has already brought the family so much joy and the kids (and I) absolutely love her already.
I've grown up with dogs my whole life and I really wanted to pass on that experience to my kids. Her name is Brandy and she'll be the kid's first childhood dog – what a milestone. Look out for an article on the family's favourite dog-friendly beaches coming soon.
A few weeks back, Lara Samuelsson, the principal physiotherapist, exercise physiologist and Pilates instructor at the Physio Pilates Movement, introduced us to a world of Pilates and this week Lara is back to share her go-to exercises for expecting mothers.
We have also partnered with Healthy Cities Illawarra to find the best playgrounds and parks across the Illawarra this summer. First up, Michelle Barry, the team leader for child health promotion, lists her favourite parks with a basketball half court.
Local author Pamela Cook, a Helensburgh Pony Club committee member, shares her expertise on introducing kids to horses and riding. And, finally, Stephanie Meades from Life Wellness Co shares a family favourite: a recipe for Buckwheat and Banana Pancakes – something perfect for your lazy Sundays.
I'll see you out there.
