In Her Element: Range celebrating women to launch in Thirroul

Just in time for the summer reset, I’m launching a new South Coast project that shines a light on the rituals that keep local women grounded, from pre-dawn swims to dog walks and quiet moments under the escarpment.
In Her Element is a portrait series and gift range I created in collaboration with South Coast photographer Anthea Christie. We brought together six Illawarra women and the landscapes they return to when they need to feel steady: ocean pools, bush tracks, headlands and those everyday dog-walk loops that mean more than people realise.
For me, this project is really about pausing long enough to ask: Where do you feel most like yourself? For so many women in the Illawarra, the answer sits somewhere between the escarpment and the sea.
We’ll be unveiling the portraits later this month at Thirroul & Co, alongside a gift range and a free 14-day reset ritual built around simple, nature-aligned habits. The event will be held Wednesday, 26 November, from 5.30-8pm.
In Her Element celebrates the region’s coastal culture, it also nods to another strong Illawarra community: cyclists.
My business, EverCircle, actually began with a single object: an eco hair tie made from discarded bike tubes. I spent years working with local bike stores to salvage punctured tubes bound for landfill and turn them into durable, ocean-safe hair accessories. What started as a way to reduce bike waste has grown into a salon-quality, circular haircare range designed for people who live active, outdoorsy lives.
Living here, you can’t help but be aware of the coastline and the impact we have on it. At the same time, cycling is huge in the Illawarra. Finding a way to reduce bike waste while creating something practical felt like a natural extension of both communities.
When it came to the portraits, I wanted to capture the moments when these women feel most in their element. It has been such a privilege to be welcomed into their worlds. The drive or walk to each location – the escarpment, the ocean, the verge gardens – becomes part of the story. Anthea has captured that beautifully.

Our collection includes:
- a South Coast portrait series featuring six local women
- a gifting range inspired by their rituals
- a 14-day nature reset delivered free via email
The project also aligns with something I see growing across the South Coast: small, community-led wellbeing initiatives that reflect how people actually live here.
Keeping it local is essential for me. This place shapes everything we do- from how we move to how we take care of ourselves. It felt important to create something that gives back to the community that helped build my business.
The In Her Element launch at Thirroul & Co is free, with RSVP recommended due to limited space. To explore the range or join the reset ritual, visit evercircle.au
