Spring is a time of renewal – a time to throw off bad habits and bring in the new. What great timing for me to attend a Spring Cleanse workshop with wholefoods author and educator Holly Davis. The bonus was the workshop setting – the beautiful, peaceful space of Moonacres School in Robertson. Today, I share a recipe from Holly that I prepared during the workshop.

I thought it timely to look at food fermentation, its history, benefits and where to go to try it for yourself. If that’s a bridge too far, buy from the local artisan fermenters in this week’s Take 3.

Also, on the theme of fermentation, I visit my local brewery – Reub Goldberg Brewing Machine in Tarrawanna – and talk to co-owner Billy. The beer was cold and fresh on a warm spring afternoon.

Finally, meet Diego "The Weedy One" Bonetto, foraging guru. You can learn more about Diego and his love of wild food from the man himself at a dinner that is part of November's I'm Not Making This Up festival.
