Hello,
This week we hear from the amazing women behind two local organisations that are doing so much good for those in the Illawarra facing tough challenges. Shaz Harrison from Need A Feed talks to me about her motivation for starting her charity and their work to help those in need.
Lisa Brooke from The EVE Project explains how she and co-founder Helen Dwyer built their not-for-profit enterprise helping women who have experienced violence and trauma to regain life skills and confidence. Their catering social enterprise, EVE & Co, generates revenue and facilitates work experience. The EVE & Co tagline, 'What Change Tastes Like', embodies their passion for food and love of people.
Lisa and Helen are bowing out of their work with The EVE Project, but the project, Thriving Future, survives with new organisation, Hopefield.
Lisa shares one of EVE & Co’s recipes, coconut chicken curry, and I take a look at coconut, a common ingredient that takes many forms – fresh, dried, liquid, oil, flour.
Enjoy,
Susan
