The Thirroul Seaside and Arts Festival will be back on June 2, 3 & 4 in 2023, Christine Hill reports
The Thirroul Austinmer Lions Club and art team volunteers are busy planning the fabulous local Seaside and Arts Festival again. As usual it will be a weekend-long celebration of the arts and seaside activities that reflect our community interests and way of life.
Here's a sneak peek at what to expect.
- Friday, evening 2 June: Official Opening of the Art Prize Exhibition at Thirroul District Community Centre. The exhibition is open all weekend. All artworks will be for sale, so come along and enjoy a visual feast of art, sculpture, and photography, with .the special Minis room offering its usual display of tiny and mini artworks
- Saturday, 3 June: The Thirroul Township comes alive with people visiting the area to enjoy great food, boutique shopping, and art items displayed in local shops. It’s a great chance to visit the Art Exhibition, which is open 10am to 4pm, and maybe buy one of the works for sale.
- Sunday, 4 June: Enjoy our magnificent seaside park where there is a full day of entertainment, great local food and coffee, and many stalls for you to browse. Remember to check out the Art Exhibition at the Thirroul District Community Centre, open from 10am to 2.30pm. Don't miss your chance to vote for your favourite painting!
The new Thirroul festival website (under construction) will have all details, and online Entry Forms for participating artists and stallholders. You will be able to listen for updates on local radio, or follow the festival on Facebook and Instagram.
Thirroul railway Station is opposite the Thirroul District Community Centre, with trains on the South Coast line between Central Station and Bomaderry.
