Shell Cove's LaGlam founder wins 7 beauty awards

Shell Cove businesswoman Amanda La Monica recently took out seven accolades at the International Beauty Shortlist 2024 with her makeup brand LaGlam Minerals.

Amanda's brand has won numerous awards since entering the competitive beauty market 15 years ago but she says picking up seven prizes at the Beauty Shortlist Awards, including for her newest product, ‘Glow Oil’, is "just incredible".

Amanda has been a hair and makeup artist for more than 20 years. The journey to creating her own range began when she found her skin was suffering from wearing makeup all day at work. Frustrated, she started investigating the production of natural products.

Her initial focus was on foundation – the first product was her award-winning 2-in-1 foundation powder. It is still winning awards today. Amanda says this is because she created a product that is designed to nurture skin. Containing zinc oxide, the foundation is all mineral, calming the skin. It can be worn wet or dry, is long lasting, water and sweat resistant and has an SPF of 20. The foundation is also lightweight, non-comedogenic (meaning it doesn't block pores), contains no parabens and is known for its superb oil control.

After the foundation, Amanda developed a full range, including other foundations, powders, mascara, lipsticks, lip gloss, primer and brushes. The most recent addition to her range is ‘Glow Oil, which she says helps to nourish, smooth and brighten the skin.

With panels in London, Sydney, Byron Bay, New York and LA, the Beauty Shortlist Awards are international prizes that focus on ethical brands and the platform prides itself on not carrying sponsors and advertising.
