Nominations close soon for high achieving individuals and organisations to be nominated for the 2024 City of Wollongong Awards.
"The annual awards give us an opportunity to acknowledge the people and organisations a better place," said Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery.
"The City of Wollongong Awards are about celebrating the everyday people who are doing fantastic things in our community to make our city a great place to call home.
"This is an annual event and over the years we’ve recognised an extraordinary list of people who are inspiring and committed to doing good.
"Last year, we awarded the three top awards – Citizen, Young Citizen and Senior Citizen – to three incredible women, Sally Stevenson AM, Shannon Fox and Nyan Thit Tieu."
Other categories for the awards are: Rising Star (under 16), Environmental Achievement, Arts and Culture, Sports Achievement, Innovation Achievement, Community Group of the Year, Diversity and Inclusion, and Wollongong to the World for former citizens who are making their mark beyond our borders.
"We hear about the great work people are doing every day and this is a chance to acknowledge their achievements," Cr Bradbery said.
Nominations for the awards close on Friday, 1 December 2023.
