This tawny frogmouth looks like how I'm sure a lot of you feel: absolutely over everything. Shall we say it's been a long year? From more Covid to relentless rain, floods and inflation, 2022 has certainly had something for everyone!
But as the year comes to a close, I feel a little bit of affection for the year that was. I learnt to crochet, and make bread and finally went frogging (you can read about that in this week's edition). I started to have a daily ocean pool swim. And it's a good reminder that those quiet moments are wonderful reminders of how good the world is.
I hope you'll join me next year as we get to know more of the nature photographers and artists, the biologists and ecologists and the hikers and surfers who call the beautiful Illawarra home.
I wish you all a fabulous Christmas, however you spend it, and a safe and happy New Year.
And until then,
I'll see you outdoors.
